Pupils win 6th form language competition

Spanish students come out top for Balcarras

We are extremely proud to announce that Hannah Warren and Ines de Sousa, both in Year 13, won the Spanish entry in the Sixth Form MFL debating competition, which took place at Cheltenham College in Cheltenham on Wednesday 29 November.

They had to compete in 5 successive rounds, debating such themes as 'Should voluntary work be made obligatory for school aged pupils?' in Spanish.  They were up against many schools, including Pates, Cheltenham College, Cheltenham Ladies' College, Dean Close, Malvern College, Bourneside, and Abingdon and St Edwards Schools in Oxford.  Matthew Milligan, Jessica Kelly and Rachel Hart in Year 12, also proudly represented our school in the French entry, winning one of the rounds.  Well done to all participants and special CONGRATULATIONS to Hannah and Ines.
