Year 7's win Science prize

'Siemens school challenge' prizes for four Balcarras Y7 students.

Four Balcarras students were awarded prizes recently in a Siemens technology challenge as part of science club.
The challenge was to design a railway network that could be used to carry new higher speed trains, whilst also continuing to allow lower speed trains to travel on the same tracks. These students did a great job in thinking about how they would adapt the tracks to make the high speed trains safe and efficient.
First place - Harriet Beardon in 7F2. She won a Raspberry Pi/Arduino Learning Kit and a certificate.
Second place - Sam Terrell in 7O1 who won a £20 Amazon voucher and a certificate.
Joint third place - Imogen Lamb 7O2 and Harry Marsland 7O1 who both won some Siemens merchandise and a certificate.
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
