Charity Donations by Balcarras School community
As a school we donate money to various charities throughout the year. One of the key ones is WaterAid who provide clean water and sanitation to the most underprivileged people around the world.
This year the school managed to raise a massive £1224, and this is an annual donation that goes back at least 11 years.

We also raise so much from the British Heart Foundation challenge that Mrs Saunders organises every year, and over the years we've given in excess of £27,000 to the British Heart Foundation as a school.
As a school we also support the local charity IT schools in Africa, who refurbish old computers and hardware for schools in Africa. This year some of their donations are also being put to great use supporting digital inclusion in the UK through our UK Community Programme.
Thanks to our schools donations we are increasing the number of disadvantaged people gaining access to digital skills and services working in partnership with local community centres and charities. Our donation of IT equipment is making a real difference to charities like these;

Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA) - Supporting the deaf and hard of hearing.
Glos Young Carers - Supporting young carers.
Home-start Stroud and Gloucester - Support service for families.
Teens in Crisis - Supporting young people with mental health.
The Friendship Café - Providing Youth and Community support.
