Class of 1958 return to Charlton Kings!

On Tuesday 16th April 34 members of the Class of 1958 returned to the school for a reunion. They were welcomed by Mr Burke and Mr Davidson before being toured around the school by our newly appointed house captains.

The Class of 1958 were the first pupils to transfer into what was then a brand new school—Charlton Kings County Secondary School. The main block, hall and gym along with what is today the DT department were the only buildings on the site.

After their tour our former pupils had a talk from Mr Davidson before sampling school dinners 2024 style. Apparently the catering has improved!

It was a real honour and privilege to welcome back the Class of 1958. They were hugely positive about the school and they were all impressed by how mature and confident our young people are. Collectively they donated £300 to Balcarras to fund a new annual prize called: The Class of 1958 Trophy for Kindness. What a nice thing.

My thanks to the House Captains for being such wonderful ambassadors for the school in their first official engagement.
