Brilliant Balcarras Win Again!

Balcarras win the county golf schools championship for a 2nd year running.
It was another outstanding day for the Balcarras golf team as they defended their title in the county finals. There were 56 players representing schools across the county at a muddy Lilleybrook GC on Thursday 21st March. Balcarras were represented by Alex Williams, Sam Ellicott, Alex Perry, Freddie Coombe, Ben Warwicker, Zac Souter, Finlay Richards and Jacob Austin.
A combined team score of 9 under par saw Balcarras win. Alex Williams, Ben Warwicker and Freddie Coombe will now go on and represent the school at the national finals at Woodhall Spa in July.
A fine 73 (nett 64) from Alex Williams saw him narrowly beat Freddie Coombe (nett 65) to secure the individual prize. In addition, three Balcarras players (Alex Perry, Sam Ellicott and Alex Williams) managed to finish in the top 8 gross scores which means they will go on and represent the school in the individual U16 national finals at Lincoln golf club. A fantastic performance by all involved and the boys should be very proud.
