Tea-riffic time had by all!

Balcarras pupils hosted a Tea party for local residents

Last Wednesday saw 'The Big Tea Party' happen at Balcarras.  It was a great afternoon where our students hosted over 80 slightly more senior members of the local community.  The students baked cakes, biscuits and scones, and served well over 200 cups of tea over the course of the afternoon.  All of the students were exceptional in the warm welcome they provided to our guests, and the standard of entertainment provided by our musicians was outstanding.  From those who baked, to those who befriended and those who did the washing up, it really was all hands on deck and a great example of teamwork across different year groups at school.

This event was hosted in partnership with Charlton Kings Parish Council, and we were delighted to work so closely with them on such an important community event.  Mayor Matt Babbage was in attendance, and many of our students were quite taken by his chains of office, with some even taking the opportunity to try them on.

A huge thanks to all the students involved for making this a memorable afternoon for all who attended, many of whom has been previous students of this school in it's early incarnations.
