A wonderful start to half term with a visit to Latvia and Estonia for 25 pupils in Yr 9-Yr12 who are studying Russian.

In Riga we learnt about the Soviet history of the country with a visit to the KGB headquarters to see interrogation rooms and prison cells.

We also had time to explore the beautiful old town and visit a Russian orthodox church. In Tallinn pupils had some more time to enjoy sightseeing and souvenir shopping.  A busy final day involved a guided tour, Russian language lessons and a cookery class. Sampling traditional dishes of borsch and pelmeni was the perfect way to end the visit!
