How do you get to School?

Here are the results from the Schools Transport Survey

In the summer we conducted a travel survey to see how pupils get to school as part of our commitment to becoming a Carbon Neutral school. 895 pupils took part in the survey. The results were positive, with 71% of pupils walking to school.

Occaisionally pupils find alternative ways to get to school, and apart from walking getting a lift and the car was the next most popular way to get to school, 26% of pupils do this at some point.

This is partly because of where pupils live, unsurprisingly most pupils live near to school, 49% live within 1 mile.

8% of pupils would like to cycle to school,(and most of these people cycle occasionally), however  only 3% do this regularly. To encourage road safety we run a Bikeability course in Year 8. This year around 80 pupils are taking part in this opportunity.

Every year we do an Empty Car Park day where we encourage people to find sustainable ways to get to school; walk, run, cycle, scoot, car share
