World Book Day

Students celebrate World Book day
On Thursday 5th March we celebrated World Book Day. This year we decided to have a special focus on the importance of reading for wellbeing, and the tutor time sessions reflected this. The students were brought back to some of their childhood favourites, listening to their teachers read a section from Matilda and in a quiz for everyone in Key Stage Three. Mrs Wranosky is currently adding up the scores and will announce the winning tutor group on Monday!
Reading for pleasure is essential for young people’s wellbeing, and we would like to take this opportunity to ask parents to help your children to make time for reading, especially in the evening before bed. If you’re struggling to get into the rhythm of reading, don’t forget that you could listen to an audiobook, read a magazine or go back and re-read one of your favourite books to get you started. Ms Kelly is also available in the library at break and lunch, ready to offer recommendations to pupils in all year groups.
Happy Reading!
