Movember Football match
Staff have a charity Movember Football match
This November staff have been growing a Mo' to support the mens health charity Movember. The aim of this has been to start the discussion about Mens health and to consider the work this charity supports. Wednesday saw the annual football match at lunchtime between the staff Mo's and No-Mo's. It was a grudge match, with the Mo's keen to get a win after a narrow defeat last year.
There were a number of pupils who came out to support the event, despite the cold weather, thank you to them. The crowd were definitley on the Mo's side. The game swung in favour of the Mo's who had shots from Critchley, a header from Mr Harvey and fast feet from Mr Goddard. Despite the pressure and an XG of 3.46 the Mo's didn't manage to score. This was largely thanks to the heroics of Mr Boughton who kept out numerous attempts by the Mo's earning him Player of the Match.
The No Mo's managed some respite with Mr Perry pulling the strings in the middle of the park and the pacey outlet of Mr Burke and Mr Armstrong in attack. Despite this the game ended 0-0, so we switched to penalties. It was a tie after 3 penalties each, and so it went to sudden death, the score got to 4-4 for the final penalties, where Mr Boughton managed to score and then subsequently save the final kick of the game, securing the win for the No-Mo's for the second year running.
Thanks to everyone who helped support the event, if you would like to know more about Movember as a charity, or donate to this cause then click here.
Rest assured the Mo's will be back for victory next year.
