This year the Duke of Edinburgh team celebrated a new award. This was an award started by Mrs Bull who ran the DofE for a number of years at Balcarras. It is an award that goes to an individual who typifies the DofE spirit of resilience, determination and teamwork. 

This year it went to Killian McMenamie-Trotter in year 11 who has just completed his DofE Bronze award. So far 70 pupils have completed their Bronze award this year. In order to complete the award pupils have to learn a new skill, take part in some physical activity, do some volunteering and go on an expedition. At Balcarras this is done in Year 10.
