2025 A-level results
Over the past two years our students have demonstrated fantastic resilience, resolve and academic ability, and we are delighted that this has enabled the vast majority to secure their preferred post-18 destinations. Having completed their arduous A-level courses, and having sat formal, rigorous exams, we hope that they are as proud of themselves as
This year’s cohort – our largest ever with a year group of 218, performed admirably, and they should feel incredibly proud of the results they attained. With 650 A-Level accreditations awarded, 64 A* grades were awarded, along with 382 A-B grades, with the cohort’s headline figures reading 69% A*-B, 88% A*-C and 99% A*-E. Twenty-nine students achieved 4 A*-A grades.
There was a great atmosphere on results day with a huge proportion of students being accepted onto their first-choice courses at universities, including some who will be continuing their studies at Oxbridge colleges, such as Adam Price whose A* A* A* A* will see him studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge. Adam’s haul of four A*s was matched by Nigel Boateng and Mark Tarnavski, whilst Adi Harris and Laura Cadogan were not far behind with 3 A*’s apiece. Emily Crook attained A* A* A which will see her studying Law at Oxford, along with Joseph Layton-Smith, whose A* A* A B will see him read Religion and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Oxford too. Alex Malden will be studying Medicine at Leeds having secured A* A* A, whilst Sean Omoruyi will pursue his medical studies at Hull York having attained A A B B. A significant proportion of the cohort have secured courses at a wide range of Russell Group universities, whilst others have secured Degree Apprenticeship courses. These fantastic achievements are a great measure of the consistency and quality of teaching and learning in the Sixth Form at Balcarras, and also testament to the hard work invested by students and staff alike. Regardless of the future destinations of our departing Year 13 students, we wish all of them the very best in the future.
