There are a number of extra curricular opportunities at Balcarras. 

The school sponsored walk is an event held each year where the pupils go off timetable and raise money for a local charity. This footage was made by the schools drone club.

In sixth form students can have the opportunity to take part in the Young enterprise competition, such as this entry from 2025.

Extra Curricular Music at school is a popular activity.
