The Schools Eco group received a commendation from the local charity ITSA

On Tuesday the schools Eco group had a visitor from ITSA, a local charity in Leckhamptom who upcycle old computers and laptops and then provide them for schools in Africa. This is a charity that the school have worked with for a number of years, and who take all of the old computers dorm school to be upgraded. This reduces e-waste and also reduces landfill for old hardware. It provides resources for pupils in schools in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Malawi.

The group were shown the components of a laptop and the process of clearing the computers and upgrading was explained to the pupils. Last month we collected electronic devices, leads and mice for the charity, for which we were presented a commendation certificate.

If you have any old computer ware it can be donated to the charity, please visit their website here
