UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge
Balcarras pupils take part in UKMT maths event
This year’s Intermediate Maths Challenge saw over 120 students take part in 25 multiple-choice problem-solving questions. An impressive number of students achieved awards: 38 Bronze, 31 Silver, and 9 Gold (some of the Gold winners are pictured).
The overall winner, by a single point, was Daniel Longley. Five students will now go on to compete in the next round of the challenge on Thursday 19 March.

The UKMT runs individual and team maths competitions throughout the year. A joint Year 8 and Year 9 Balcarras team will also be competing in a team event at Pate’s School on Monday 9 March.
