On Thursday this week Lieutenant Daniel Tierney landed his helicopter at Balcarras as part of a Royal Navy training exercise. Daniel was a Balcarras pupil from Sept 2014 to June 2020. He is now a pilot with the Royal Navy.

Year 7 pupils went out to watch and several staff were there as well including a very proud Mrs Tierney who works in the finance department.

It was very exciting. We are hoping that Daniel might do a return flight and next time park his helicopter so he could actually meet some of our pupils…particularly those interested in a career in the forces.
