Over £11,000 raised for local hospice
Last week Balcarras pupils took part in the school sponsored walk. This was to raise money for the local Sue Ryder Hospice. As of Tuesday £3990.25 has been raised by the pupils efforts. It was a 5KM and pupils could either run or walk the course. All years from Year 7 to 11 took part in the event. With the 6th formers having an ice breaker BBQ event. The weather was kind and the conditions were dry under foot. Well done to everyone that gave it a go.
Then on Sunday 34 of the staff at school ran either the 10KM or half marathon in Cheltenham, This also raised money for Sue Ryder. As of Tuesday this raised £7,265 A fantastic achievement. Made all the more possible by all of the people out supporting the event. Thanks to everyone for getting behind this effort. This gives us a grand total of £11,255.25.
