On Saturday 21st June, 6 students from Balcarras School travelled by minibus to Nottingham Croquet Club where they took part in the National Schools Croquet Championship. There were teams from all over the country, with many years’ experience amongst them but our students were not phased! They played with skill, determination and above all else, with enjoyment! They played as a team, sometimes sacrificing their own ball so their partner could run the hoop. They were courteous to other participants and referees, and their impeccable behaviour was highly praised by the organisers of the event.

They may not have come first, but they played like champions! They were awarded a medal for their amazing play and will be back next year for the trophy!
