Every June we take the Y12 students to the Higher Education Convention at the Birmingham NEC. At the convention there will be representatives from nearly all the universities and higher education colleges in the UK, and from gap year organisations and a number of employers too. The visit offers students an excellent opportunity to talk to university and college representatives and to collect prospectuses and information on courses.

This is an all-day convention; the trip is £12 per student and they will need to bring either a packed lunch or money to buy lunch. Payment can be made via Scopay.  If you have any difficulties paying this fee, please note that there is a Sixth Form bursary available to those in receipt of income support such as universal credit. Please be aware that the students will not be under constant teacher supervision. They will be allowed to walk independently around the complex.

This is a major step for students in making decisions about their future. We are very keen that all Year 12 students attend, even those who are still uncertain about whether they will apply to university or not as the day will give them an overall post-18 insight.
