During February half term break, Mrs Hockenhull and Miss Bird took a small group of A level and GCSE Spanish students to Málaga for 5 days. Two of our sixth formers have written their account of our visit below:

During our trip to Malaga, we fully immersed ourselves into life in Spain. We stayed with Spanish families in apartments with some of us looking onto the beach front. On two mornings we participated in Spanish lessons which centred on useful conservation practice. We also visited lots of famous places within Malaga such as the Alcazaba and the Cathedral.

On day 3 we visited Córdoba, a roman city north of Malaga where we ate churros in a local churrería and most importantly visited the breath-taking mosque-cathedral which was amazing to see.

With such great weather, the picnic lunch on the beach and everyone having so much fun, we really enjoyed our visit. Further highlights included visiting the Moroccan tea shop and having our own free time around Malaga to go shopping and explore.

On the last day we got to visit an art museum which was full of very interesting artwork and later we picked out our lunch from a traditional Spanish food market where we used our Spanish conversational skills to order our food. Overall we had a great time and didn’t want to come back!
