House Dance

The annual house dance festival saw a host of talented dancers at Balcarras

On Wednesday 15th June we held the annual house dance competition. We saw a range of dance styles from contemporary, tap, street and Irish dancing. All participants showed fantastic effort and there was some real team spirit on display. This year we saw the judges choose Ottewell to take the cup for the best house, with Selvey coming close second. The Lewis cup went to Millie Crouchman- Powell with her incredible solo performance. There were so many highlights of the day including a Year 7 trio to ‘greased lightning’ and a Year 10 group to ‘time of my life’. Many of the dances will feature in the upcoming dance fest evening on Tuesday 5th July – an event not to be missed!

We would like to thank the judges who gave up their time to judge the competition. These judges were Liz Saunders, Amy Bastin, Jenna Miles and Balcarras drama teacher Nikita Baron. The judges were so impressed with the enthusiasm, talent, and participation of all students. We would also like to thank the performing arts captains for their hard work organising their house and producing some excellent finale dances. We really enjoyed seeing students being able to enjoy an event like this again!
