Please find a copy of our latest inspection report below. It is, as you will see, full of praise for all aspects of the school. The inspectors were impressed by all they saw, and by the way the pupils spoke to them.
The pupils were confident, articulate, enthusiastic about their education and proud to be members of Balcarras. I hope you are proud, too, of their achievements and of the quality of the education they are receiving.
On behalf of the governors and you, the parents, I would also like to pay tribute to the work done by all the staff of the school. Every member of staff - teaching, administrative and support - makes a crucial contribution. The teaching is rightly described as outstanding and it is at the heart of the school’s work – enthusiastic pupils being inspired by highly qualified, imaginative, committed teachers, supported by equally hardworking and dedicated support staff. Thank you to all of them.
This report is exceptionally strong, even for schools judged to be Outstanding, but we will not, I can assure you, become complacent. We feel privileged to have the responsibility for educating your children and will continue to do it to the very best of our ability.

Balcarras in the Good Schools Guide
We have been listed in the Good Schools Guide for about 5 years now and were recently "re-visited". We're very pleased with the report on how the visitor saw the school. He spent the whole day with us and as you will see, he was highly impressed with the atmosphere of the school and the enthusiasm he saw everywhere.
Ofsted Inspection 2005
We have also still included a copy of the inspection report from October 2005. The report gave us great satisfaction. It was an endorsement of the quality of everything. The overall judgement was that we were an Outstanding school - which was cause for pride and celebration - and the inspectors went on to judge us as outstanding in each of the categories and in 26 of the 27 sub-categories!
The report made excellent reading for everyone involved in the school and was a source of absolute reassurance for parents about the education being experienced by their children.
