School Uniform Update & Knowing which House your child is in
Your child will receive a letter at the end of June / early July which will inform them which tutor group and house they are in. At the moment, the only part of the uniform that will need to be in House colours, is the school badge. These are not only available from our uniform suppliers but are also available directly from Balcarras School (through reception). These can be purchased via scopay - you will be provided with log in details for your child with the above letter.
Click here for a full school uniform list.
New Skirt
Pupils joining Balcarras from September 2025 will now have to wear the new Tartan pleated skirt.
We have one uniform supplier:
Monkhouse (formerly School Togs)

252 High Street, opposite the brewery.

PE Kit
We will be going through all of the kit requirements at the New Parents Evening. This year, at this point we only need you to order an ONLINE “pupil named” white embroidered Polo shirt, should you wish to purchase one, these are optional. These can be purchased once you have received your scopay access.
Click here to see the size guide.
When making your ONLINE order and payment, you will need to add your child’s name as you want it to appear on their Polo shirt.
(For example – if your child is named “William Jones” then you could have his full name as it appears on register, or as “W Jones” or “Will Jones”.) If you fail to provide this information then your child’s name will appear as it is on our register.
ONLINE ORDERING NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BY WEDNESDAY 9TH JULY.
Should you have any queries regarding ONLINE ordering please contact Mrs Sue Davis
email address - sed@balcarras.gloucs.sch.uk
ALL other PE kit can be either paid for over the summer or purchased from any stockist.

These will be purchased for September and given out their during first PE lesson, more details will follow through your child’s tutor.
This will allow us to check sizes without the need to return goods that are the incorrect size.

PTFA
Balcarras PTFA is a committee whose purpose is to raise money to support the School. The committee organises a number of events during the school year to raise the funds requires. We use these funds towards equipment and materials for departments and extracurricular clubs. In the past we have been lucky enough to provide every request made. In addition, we also each year provide financial assistance towards the Year 11 & Year 13 annual prom and the Year 11 leavers book.
The PTFA is a necessary & essential part of enabling the school to function at its current level.
We welcome further support and assistance from parents either as a member of the committee or just helping for an hour or longer at one or more of the numerous events we hold to raise funds. All meetings are held in the staff room from 7pm on the following dates. We welcome all.
The PTFA dates for next year will be published soon.
