The Mayor of Cheltenham, Councillor Matt Babbage, visited Balcarras on Thursday 19^th October.

After a short meeting with our headteacher, Mr Burke the Mayor met sixth form pupils and spoke to them about his role as Mayor and the wider system of local government. The students asked some great questions and most of them stayed inside the territory of local rather than national politics.

Balcarras would like to thank Councillor Babbage for visiting the school. We are keen to give our pupils the opportunity to meet local and national politicians, not just to expose them to the range of political debate, but to actively encourage their future participation at all levels of the political process.
