Balcarras named Top Comprehensive in SW

For the second year running Balcarras has been named as the highest performing comprehensive school in the South West by the Sunday Times Parent Power supplement.

Parent Power ranks schools according to their A*/B percentage at A level and their A*/A rate at GCSE.

"Balcarras School in Cheltenham, where almost 70% of A level grades were A*, A or B, is the top comprehensive school in the region."

We are delighted that once again the performance of the school has been recognised in this way. Overall Balcarras ranked 182 nationally. That's pretty good when you consider that there are 164 grammar schools in the country who only take the most able children. Indeed to have outperformed so many selective schools at A level is quite an achievement--one which the students, parents and teachers should take great pride in.
