In addition to this, the History Department will also be selling poppies in the year group bubbles, please do bring in change as we are collecting for this excellent charity in a safe way.

As in previous years, we are also launching our History Week. In tutor times there will be guidance on how to have a Tutor Group General Election, material for having a debate on Just War theory and  a pre-recorded session on World War One from the Imperial War Museum just for us, all free of charge!

Students have also been given a flyer through their tutor with QR codes where students can sign up to a Historical Association lecture on the Mayflower's 400th anniversary, students who sign up with Balcarras email addresses will get free access to this lecture on the 24th November.
Lastly, parents, staff and students are encouraged to submit any art forms for the department's East Side Gallery competition, to recreate the artistic representations of varying historical events and individuals in Berlin, from the comfort of our own department. Any questions on how to enter, or about anything to do with history please direct to Mr Stoker, mks@balcarras.gloucs.sch.uk"
