Year 8 STEM

A local engineering firm created a STEM challenge for year 8

On the 22nd of May, 35 Y8 students were involved in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) project with Kohler Mira. The pupils were selected due to their excellent effort in D&T this year.

During the day the groups were given a design brief and asked to design, cost and promote a new shower system for a disabled user.

The teams then presented to the whole group at the end of the day. There were two winning teams. The best product was awarded to Leonie Wright, Hannah Maxwell, Phoebe Robinson-Wall and Arabella Henson. The best presentation on the day was awarded to Nicola Trowbridge, Jess Johnson, Rachel Purnell, Rachel Kimber and Charlotte Peters-Phillips. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to Kohler Mira for a fantastic day.
